General FAQs

  • DOG GYM is for anyone who wants more for their dog and for themselves. First time dog owners finding their footing. Working breed owners who know their dog needs real outlet and real challenge. Families welcoming a new rescue and building trust from the ground up. People with active, intelligent dogs who are ready for something that actually meets them where they are. Come find your place in the pack.

  • Reactivity means different things for different dogs. Many dogs who seem reactive are simply overstimulated, under-exercised, or socially immature, and those dogs often thrive with intentional pack work. With the right guidance, they learn neutrality, emotional recovery, and how to move through the world with steadiness.

  • Once a week will get you started and keep your dog connected to the pack, but consistency is where real transformation happens. Dogs who come two or three times a week build on each experience before it fades, developing steadiness, social fluency, and genuine fulfillment at a pace that sticks. We offer a variety of programs so you can mix and match throughout the week in a way that fits your life. The more you and your dog show up, the more you grow and the stronger our whole community becomes.

Trail Club FAQs

  • One dog per handler.

To ensure safety, maintain proper social neutrality, and allow you to give your dog 100% of your focus and guidance on the trail, we limit attendance to one pup per person. If you have multiple dogs, you are welcome to bring a second handler along, or alternate which dog joins us each week!

  • All dogs must start the session on-leash.

Your dog may only be moved to off-leash work once you receive an explicit "OK" from one of the DOG GYM coaches during the hike.

You are welcome to use the gear that works best for your current level of training (standard 6-foot leash, a 10-foot, a 30-foot long line, e-collar…)

  • We control the environment so you can advocate for your dog's space. While dog-to-dog interactions do happen on the trail, we actively manage the pack to ensure it remains a safe working environment. Off-leash dogs are closely monitored and taught to respect boundaries, staying away from teams that need extra distance. Our coaches are always there to help you control the space so your dog can build neutrality and focus at their own comfort level.

Social Club FAQs

Real-World Neutrality: Your dog will learn to stay calm, relaxed, and focused on you in public settings.

Mental & Physical Enrichment: Each session bridges the gap between structured on-leash training and exploration.

A Safe Space for All Personalities

Fresh, Evolving Challenges: To keep things exciting, our curriculum changes regularly to introduce new experiences and maintain your dog's curiosity.
